Seitan with beer and apple is one of the three recipes proposed by chef Francesco Basco during the show cooking of the "N&B in Cucina" project dedicated to Seitan.
Ingredients :
- 1 pack of Seitan
- Apples
- Cherry tomatoes
- Mince for sauté
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 sprig of marjoram
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- Lemon peel
- Flour to taste
- 2 glasses of beer
- Vegetable broth
- Parsley
- Salt and Pepper To Taste
Method
- First put the stew in a bowl and marinate in the beer for an hour.
- After the hour, drain the seitan stew and flour it.
- Prepare the sautéed carrot, celery and onion with extra virgin olive oil. When the fried mixture is well browned, add the stew and let it brown evenly.
- Add the chopped lemon peel, chopped marjoram and beer; season with salt and pepper. Cover the saucepan and let it cook for 10 minutes on a low flame.
- Once the time has passed, add the peeled and diced tomatoes, the peeled and diced apple. Adjust salt if necessary.
- Leave to cook for another 15 minutes, wetting from time to time with the broth. Serve hot to the table.
